History

In 1941 Poll described this sp. from 4 specimens collected in the Maseni River. This was a small river which flowed into the Bon-de-Boan River which in turn flowed into the Noun River. The point of capture was where the Maseni joins the Bon-de-Boun.

Herold Olsen collected this sp. in 1963 & 1964. Many of these were preserved

Breeding Notes

Regarded as an easy species to breed although I have not yet kept them. Eggs are reportedly laid on top & bottom mops. Eggs should be incubated in a seperate container & take 12-14 days to incubate in water. Growth is rapid with sexual maturity being attained in about 5-6 months.
